Good Day Child of God,
Today’s Devotion and Reflection is based on the Scripture: Judges 18:17-18 (NIV)
“While the five men went on and entered the city, they took the idol, the ephod and the household gods. The priest said to them, ‘What are you doing?’ They answered him, ‘Be quiet! Don’t say a word. Come with us, and be our father and priest. Isn’t it better that you serve a tribe and clan in Israel as priest rather than just one man’s household?'”
The story of the Levite and the Danites reveals the danger of idolatry and the ease with which people can be swayed away from true worship. The offer to serve as the tribe’s priest illustrates the allure of power and compromise. This story teaches us the importance of guarding against idolatry and remaining steadfast in our devotion to God.
Dear Lord, help us to guard against idolatry and the compromises that can lead us astray. May we remain steadfast in our devotion to You and choose to worship only You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Today, I choose to guard against idolatry and the allure of compromises. I will remain steadfast in my devotion to God and worship only Him.
Word of Prophecy:
I prophesy that as you guard against idolatry and remain steadfast in your devotion to God, He will bless you with strength to resist temptations. Your commitment to true worship will lead to a life of blessings and favour.
Reflect on moments when temptations have led you away from true worship. Are there areas where you need to guard against idolatry and compromises? Choose to remain steadfast in your devotion to God.
May this devotion inspire you to guard against idolatry, resist compromises, and remain steadfast in your devotion to God’s true worship.
