Good Day Child of God,
Today’s Devotion and Reflection is based on the Scripture: Joshua 6:1-24 (NIV)
“Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
Moral Story:
The Battle of Jericho is a powerful account of how faith and obedience can bring down even the strongest barriers. The walls of Jericho seemed impenetrable, and the Israelites could have easily been discouraged and given up. However, they chose to trust in God’s instructions and step out in faith. They followed His unconventional plan of marching around the city, blowing trumpets, and shouting, even though it seemed illogical. Their obedience and faith resulted in the miraculous crumbling of the city walls and a victorious conquest.
Just like the Israelites, we often face walls and barriers in our lives that seem insurmountable. It may be a personal challenge, a difficult circumstance, or a seemingly impossible goal. But this story reminds us that when we place our trust in God and follow His guidance, He can bring down any wall standing in our way.
Short Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the example of the Israelites in the Battle of Jericho. Help us to trust in Your plans and obey Your instructions, even when they seem unconventional or challenging. Strengthen our faith to believe that You can bring down the walls in our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Affirmation:
Today, I choose to march forward in faith. I believe that with God, all things are possible, and no barrier is too great. I will trust in His guidance and follow His instructions, knowing that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Word of Prophecy:
I prophesy to you that as you march forward in faith, trusting in God’s guidance and obeying His instructions, you will witness the walls in your life crumble before your eyes. The barriers that have held you back will be demolished, and new opportunities and victories will emerge. The Lord will lead you to triumph and bless you abundantly as you step out in obedience.
Reflection:
Take a moment to reflect on the walls or barriers you are currently facing. Are there areas in your life where you need to exercise more faith and trust in God’s plan? Consider the unconventional ways God may be calling you to step out in obedience. Remember the story of Jericho and how the impossible became possible through faith. Seek God’s guidance and commit to marching forward with unwavering trust in Him.
May this devotion inspire you to walk in faith, knowing that God is with you, and He is able to break down any barrier that stands in your way. Keep marching forward, and expect to see His miraculous power at work in your life.
